This summer program is designed for students entering 6th grade or for students looking to strengthen their math foundation and gain confidence before the school year begins. The course helps students develop strong mathematical thinking skills while introducing and reinforcing key concepts aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards. This program is also beneficial for students preparing for a Credit by Examination (CBE) or placement testing to advance beyond 6th grade math. The course strengthens key TEKS concepts and problem-solving skills that can support students pursuing acceleration opportunities.
The curriculum focuses on building fluency with essential middle school math concepts while helping students develop problem-solving strategies for long-term academic success. Students will strengthen foundational skills and gain early exposure to concepts that play an important role throughout middle school mathematics.

Operations with rational numbers
Proportional reasoning
Expressions, equations, and inequalities
Algebraic representations
Geometry and measurement
Data analysis
Personal financial literacy
Building strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Reinforcing core TEKS concepts to support CBE and acceleration goals

This course is taught by Coach Ram, an IIT graduate based in Texas with over 15 years of experience teaching Math and Physics. He has worked with students across elementary, middle school, and advanced academic programs, helping them build strong foundations and develop confidence in mathematics. He will be assisted by Shri, who brings a relatable student perspective and near-peer mentorship to support learning. Shri has received national recognition in science competitions, earned top scores on AP exams, and has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement across STEM subjects. Sessions emphasize conceptual understanding, problem-solving strategies, and creating a positive learning environment that prepares students for long-term success.
